- Feb 13. The Curlew Civic Club is holding their February BINGO games at the Curlew Civic Hall in Curlew, WA. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and games begin at 7:00 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available and cash prizes awarded to all game winners. - Mar 13. Family Fun Night; 5:30-9 p.m.; spaghetti & salad dinner. Bring white elephant items and a dessert to share; at the Malo Grange, Malo. Call 509-775-8997.
- Mar 21. The Arts Council of Ferry County is sponsoring a "Hippie Masquerade … Come as You Were” party. The annual fundraiser includes a dessert auction (featuring approximately twenty tasty desserts donated by our area's best cooks) and dance. The auction begins at 7:00 p.m. and includes pies, cheesecakes, brownies, cookies, exotic rum cakes, torts, and layered delights. Monies raised are used to promote area events such the Ansorge Artists Affaire (June 7), the Pioneer Arts Camp for Kids ( June 22-25), the Shakespearean play (Aug 21-23), and our Annual Harvest Party (Nov 15). This is the Arts Council's only fund raiser, and they greatly appreciate and make good use of your contributions. Please come out and show your support.
April
- April 11. Everest and Beyond Slideshow and personal commentary, delivered by Jim Whittaker, the first American to summit Mount Everest. Scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Ferry County Fairgrounds Carousel Building Conference Room. Organizers are suggesting a $10 donation per person. Check or cash only please. - April 17 & 18. 2009 Annual Conservation Plant Sale (April 17 & 18) and Spring Conservation Fair (April 18). Event is part of Ferry County Pride Month, a series of positive community activities in celebration of Ferry County’s natural resources. Attendees can pick up plant orders, purchase conservation plants and trees, and attend natural resource and conservation related workshops. Located at the Ferry County Fairgrounds; admission is free. Plant Sale runs April 18th from 9am – 4pm and April 19th from 9am – 2pm. Conservation Fair runs April 19th from 10am – 1pm. - May 30. The Republic Tour Team Wrestlers are holding a softball tournament at the Republic Sports Complex (Little League Fields). Sign-up begin at 9:30 a.m. and they'll start playing ball at 10:00 a.m. Cost is $5.00 per player. Teams will be drawn once all registrations have been received. Concessions will also be sold. - June 6. The Curlew Civic Club is holding their June BINGO games at the Curlew Civic Hall in Curlew, WA. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and games begin at 7:00 p.m. Hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches with homemade tomato soup, and other refreshments will be available and cash prizes will be awarded to all game winners. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by either a parent, grandparent or legal guardian. This is the kick-off event for the annual Curlew Barrel Derby and Ansorge Artist's affair. - June 7. The town of Curlew is holding its annual Barrel Derby celebration. The day begins with a pancake breakfast offered from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. Buy Derby tickets and win big money if you guess when the barrel will arrive in Curlew after it's tossed in the Kettle River. A Fun Run starts at 9:30 a.m. and t-shirts will be presented to all participants. Curlew's famous BBQ Beef Dinner will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and ice cream will be available all day. The 3-on-3 Hoop Jam starts at noon and the Barrel Derby Parade begins at 2:00 p.m. The event takes place in parallel with the Ansorge Artists' Affair, so event visitors will also enjoy opportunities to listen to live music and browse arts and craft. - June 7. The Arts Council's 8th-annual Ansorge Artists' Affair will be held during Barrel Derby Days in historic Curlew, Washington. Begin your day with a pancake breakfast at the Fire Hall in Curlew at 7:30 a.m., followed by a scrumptious lunch of BBQ beef from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Event runs from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

- July 16. Pomona Grange meeting is at 6:30 p.m., located at the San Poil Grange on Creamery Road behind the old Ace Hardware in Republic. The San Poil Grangers will be hosting the event.
