WisherWood fenceJuly 5. Curious about the wonders that lay behind the WisherWood Gallery's beautiful "cloud" fence (between City Hall and Java Joy’s on South Clark in Republic, WA)? Wonder no more. On Saturday, July 5, step beyond the gallery's gate to enjoy the pleasures of the Saturday Market. Visitors will be able to shop the wares of local artists and craft folks, listen to the music of talented local musicians, and visit the charming WisherWood Gallery and Yarn Shop. July 4 - 6. Curlew High's All-School Reunion is scheduled for the July 4th weekend. Friday, July 4, alumni will tour the Curlew School from 4:00-5:30 p.m.; followed by a meal from 6:00-9:00 p.m., catered by the folks at the Riverside Cafe. Saturday, July 5, attendees will be treated to a noon picnic potluck at Tom and Louise McKay's. Sunday, July 6, the Ansorge Hotel Museum and Husky Car and Truck Museum will be open to visitors in the afternoon. The reunion is paying special honor to "8s" class members who graduated between 1928-1968. A Memorial Board will be on display remembering classmate who have passed away. Aug 4. The North Country Writers are sponsoring the Writer's Conference 2008, with keynote speaker, Stephen Bly, a well-known Western writer, cowboy poet, and author of over 100 books. The conference is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at the Republic High School. Pre-registration is $45, and includes a free continental breakfast and a catered lunch. Conference attendees and guests will also be treated to a free author networking and dessert event scheduled for Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Northern Inn.
